Volunteers are vital to our mission. As a Empath LIFE volunteer, you help support our community’s aging seniors in living healthy, active and independent lives.
Whether you want to bring joy, comfort and support to our participants and families, assist with our operations or lend a hand in another role, we know you will find a satisfying experience with our volunteer family. Opportunities are available in Hillsborough County at our Empath LIFE Day Center, participants’ homes or your home.

Day Center
Lead activities (art, sewing, games, crafts, discussion, etc.) for participants; assist staff and participants with activities and mealtimes; or greet participants and at the front desk at our Empath LIFE Day Center in Tampa.
In Home
Support participants in their homes through companionship and respite care.
Office Support
Provide administrative or computer assistance.
Telephone Support
Make calls from your home to participants and families to identify needs, provide companionship and give reassurance. Daytime and evening opportunities may be available.

To become a volunteer, you must take the free four-hour Empath Health volunteer orientation and an additional two-hour Empath LIFE orientation is required. For volunteers wishing to provide support to participants in their homes the 12-hour Patient and Family Support training is required.
